Diamantis De Min, performing in the sprint but animated by various sports

DIARY OF AN ATHLETE

Between sprinting, horseback riding practiced for nearly 8 years, reading and photography, Diamantis is passionate about a little bit of everything. However, in athletics, if there are any disciplines she does not wish to practice, it would be the long distances, such as the 1500m for example.

Diamantis would therefore be defined as a person driven by sport, but also a young woman of 18 years in the junior 2 category.

A member of the Lorient Athletics Club in Brittany, she started athletics at the age of 6 in the sports section of her secondary school, before confirming her path by joining a club.

In terms of performance, it was at the interclub meet that Diamantis achieved a personal best of 11″ 87 over 100 meters. A pretty solid performance, and not so far from her summer goal of getting as close as possible to 11″ 70 over that same distance. And why not, as a bonus, a podium at the French championship to perfectly close his last year in the junior category. A podium that is a nice season objective, but next to which is added a whole other hope.

"A selection in the French team would really be the Grail and the consecration of the work done in training".

What fits Diamantis the most is the short. So we're more likely to see her perform on 60 meters in winter, and 100 meters in summer, than on 200 meters. With a 4th place finish at the French Championships in Lyon this winter that ended in 7″ 59, you can tell that her discipline was chosen carefully, based on her promising abilities.

But when you are still young, there are some important details in sports that are sometimes put aside. And yet we know that it is the little details that make the difference.

"I don't go to the physio or osteopath enough. I think it's still an area for improvement to help recovery between competitions and prevent injuries so I can perform better."

The sporting future is still ahead of her, we hope. Today, she is performing well in the sprint, but she keeps in her heart the desire to resume horseback riding one day, maybe even start combat sports like MMA, if her studies and athletics training allow it.

And among his inspirations, Diamantis remembers the achievement of a person from his club, Ludovic Arrault, who made the Masters World Championships in Finland in 2022.

"I think it's super inspiring that we can still do great things in the higher categories. Plus, our club is fairly new and it's great that we can be represented in big competitions like this."
